Wearable Wireless Health Monitoring or Wearable Body Area Network (WBAN) is a result of the convergence of several technologies towards a single objective: wireless health care monitoring and remote diagnostics (e.g. blood sugar levels, heart condition, pill camera, motion sensor, etc.). WBAN is beginning to revolutionize the world of health care monitoring. Some prototype products are already in the market and have received encouraging response, propelling R&D activities in the field. The development of wearable healthcare monitors requires the co-coordinated efforts from various specialized groups and professionals: textile scientists, polymer chemists, physicists, bioengineers, software engineers, telecom engineers, consumer specialists and fashion designers, as well as those in the medical professions.
